2026 marks the 25th anniversary of 9/11. We will honor those that were affected by gathering to show our solidarity and respect and volunteering at the Houston National Cemetery. The event will begin with a meaningful 30-minute remembrance ceremony followed by a service project to clean and beautify the cemetery grounds. Volunteers will be involved in various tasks, including but not limited to, cleaning and aligning of headstone and gravestones, raking, sweeping, and garbage collection.

We invite you to join us in honoring those who rest in this sacred place, the Houston National Cemetery, and all those who serve us as First Responders and US Armed Forces.

Your participation, whether for a short time or the entire duration, is greatly appreciated.

Bring: Yourselves! Some items to consider are hats, gloves, a water bottle, and sunscreen. The volunteer sign up includes tools you can choose to bring you would like.

No Age Restrictions: Families are welcome! Anyone and everyone is invited as long as young children are with a responsible guardian.

Parking: Parking will be onsite. Please be respectful of the grounds and have all four wheels to be on the street.

All volunteers are invited to join a brief but powerful Remembrance Ceremony, 9:30 am at the Hemicycle.

We ask all volunteers to be respectful while on the Houston National Cemetery property.

The volunteer signup includes videos of the respective tasks: headstone aligning, headstone cleaning and debris cleanup.
